The Sunday School Class of the Week is our middle school girls class! Taught by Kathy Martin and Megan Mills, the class is for girls in 6th-8th grade. Kathy and Megan use various curriculums from Lifeway that focus on how middle school girls can deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and navigate the various issues they face on a daily basis. Right now, they are going through a study called “Defined” by Priscilla Shirer. If you have a girl in 6th-8th grade, have them check out Kathy and Megan’s class. The class meets every Sunday at 9:15 AM in the Youth Center.

Here is a guest post from one of our church members, Sandra Burgess! -

Anyone who knows me and Travis has probably joked about our "envelopes"! 🤣

But, I can honestly say that Financial Peace University changed our lives back in 2007. We were drowning in debt. We were both professionals making decent salaries and we were draining our bank account every month making "payments" on everything under the sun. Cars, student loans, furniture, appliances, gas (!), junk we didn't need from Target, and on and on and on.

It took us a couple of years to pay all that stuff off, but even then, I still didn't truly understand what "Financial Peace" meant.

Until. Life is full of "untils"!

Travis was laid off in 2013. And because we had paid off all that debt and built up an emergency fund, I could still breathe! I was not in a panic. The day he called me at work to tell me the news, I actually went home and made beans and rice for dinner (not the time for steak!) and baked a 'You Lost Your Job" cake. 😂

He laughed, and I laughed, but I was remembering another time in our life. Those early years of our marriage....the pre-Dave-Ramsey days. We would have been in real trouble. We could not have survived one month without both of our salaries back then. Probably not one week!

But, when that layoff happened, we had peace. And Travis found a new job without either of us experiencing one sleepless night.

That is financial peace.

Please join us at FBC Huffman if you do not have financial peace. Anyone can do this, I promise! Travis Burgess Jr. is teaching it!

The Joneses are broke. That means keeping up with them will only get you into MORE debt! It’s time to run fast and hard in the other direction, and Financial Peace University will show you how.

Join us at FBC Huffman starting on February 9th. Feel free to message us on this page or the coordinator Travis Burgess with your questions at Travis.Burgess@shell.com. You can sign up at fpu.com/1106017! There is a $99 cost for the class that pays for the materials.
